Global Trends driving socially responsible behaviour

The impact of globalization, climate change, instant and worldwide communications have contributed to society demanding that organizations demonstrate ethical and transparent behaviour in addressing the impacts their decisions have on society and the environment.

These demands have resulted in legislation and voluntary standards to guide organizations in demonstrating socially responsible behaviour.

BRI specialists are contributing to the development and use of these new and emerging international best practice voluntary standards for:

Water and waste water:

  • ISO 24510, 11 and 12 Water and Wastewater Guidance
  • Ontario Ministry of the Environment's Drinking Water Quality Management Standard

Reporting and Reducing Greenhouse Gases:

  • ISO 14064 Parts 1 and 2 on GHG Quantification and Reduction

Social Responsibility and Sustainable Development:

  • ISO 26000 Social Responsibility
